“Under Construction” - a bilateral accelerator program for sustainable building innovation

To achieve the ambitious goals of the German National Climate Change Act, the European Green Deal and the Paris Climate Agreement, the global construction industry is facing significant challenges. To accelerate the shift towards a more sustainable and carbon-neutral building sector, innovative, rapidly implementable and broad-scale applicable solutions are needed.

Under Construction”, a seven-week accelerator program initiated by the Liebling Haus, aims to do this by supporting eight start-ups in transferring their building innovations from theory into practice. The selected startups, which are either working on developing new innovative building materials, creating solutions that enhance community well-being and resilience or developing innovative technological solutions, which aim to optimize the construction process will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, refine their solutions and gain invaluable insights from experts in the field. Applications are open until the 15th of September 2024, with online workshops taking place in October and November 2024.

Given the content alignment, the German Federal Bauadakemie Foundation has cooperated with the Liebling Haus over several years. Since autumn 2021, the foundation´s founding director Prof. Dr Guido Spars holds a seat on the Liebling Haus´ Board of Trustees, which is chaired by Mr Sören Bartol, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building.
