How can we design climate-adapted and livable urban spaces?
Once again, the site of the Federal Bauakademie Foundation (BSBA) in Berlin-Mitte will be transformed into a space for experimentation this summer.
Under the title Blue-Green Construction, Treffpunkt Bauwende 2026 explores how cities can adapt to climate change in a practical and forward-looking way. In cooperation with BuGG and BRWA, the project brings innovative approaches to life on site.
We warmly invite you to the opening of the exhibition
“Treffpunkt Bauwende – Blue-Green Construction” on June 8, 2026.

Together with the Federal Association of Building Greening (BuGG) and the Berlin Rainwater Agency (BRWA), we are transforming the Bauakademie site into a place where the potential of blue-green building can be experienced first-hand. Universities, public authorities, companies, and start-ups will showcase rainwater storage systems, green façades, shading structures, and much more—creating a space for hands-on exploration, exchange, and discussion.
We show how blue-green construction can:
- reduce urban heat,
- strengthen natural water cycles,
- relieve pressure on sewer systems and protect waterways,
- conserve drinking water resources,
- enhance biodiversity, and
- improve overall quality of life.
We look forward to welcoming you on June 8, 2026. No registration is required.
Accompanying program:
The accompanying program includes three expert discussions on water-sensitive urban districts, cross-property water management, and blue-green architecture. In addition, guided tours will be offered for both professionals and the interested public, along with hands-on workshops for anyone who would like to get actively involved.
