In light of the housing shortage, increasing vacancy rates in office and commercial spaces, high construction costs, and resource conservation targets, the rapid and creative conversion of existing buildings is becoming increasingly important. Before planning new construction projects, it is worthwhile to address vacancies in order to meet new demands through smart development strategies and reuse concepts. With this in mind, four experts from the fields of regional vacancy management, proactive urban development, building within existing structures, and (re)construction research will share their experiences. The discussion at our 13th Transformation Dialogue "Converting buildings faster" will focus on questions of how conversion and building reuse can be achieved more quickly and easily and which prerequisites, structures and incentives would support this goal.
